4-4-2020 CoVID-19 Statistics

Statistics from 4/2/2020-4/4/2020 regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

These statistics are taken from the Johns Hopkins University CSSE website and tracking tool. Below is the description taken directly off of the site:

The Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) is a research collective housed within the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering (CaSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU).  Our faculty, researchers, and students work on a range of complex and interdisciplinary problems, united by the goal to better understand and improve societal, health, and technological systems for everyone.

During this crisis, it has been the source of statistical information used by many if not most mainstream media and officials following the spread.

It is possible if not probable that certain governing bodies have different resources but this is what the general public of the entire world has access to (mostly) to follow what we are to believe as accurate reporting of the numbers.

Below is an accounting of approximately 36 hours between 4/2/2020 5:21 pm to 4/4/2020 5:54 am.

4-2-2020 5:21 pm

Total confirmed: 1,011,490 Total Deaths: 52,863

4-4-2020 5:52 am

Total confirmed: 1,131,713 Total Deaths: 59,884

Changes over 36 hours:

Global confirmed cases increased by 120,223

Global confirmed deaths increased by 7021

U.S. confirmed cases increased by 36,276

New York State confirmed cases increased by 10,663

New York State confirmed deaths increased by 538

2882-2344=538: These numbers needed to be obtained by scrolling through and adding all of the numbers entered for New York State for each individual time stamp.

All of the above information was taken from the Johns Hopkins tracking site.

One hour later I loaded the ncov2019.live site and the total number of deaths for New York State they published was 3218.

I am still not aware of how these numbers are recorded, documented and released from any of the resources available.

Without travelling the country and visiting every department of health to obtain the “official” numbers, these resources are our only way of seeing the big picture. I am fully aware of the discrepancies and inaccuracies. My own state of Minnesota is only listed once in the entire death records list and is only mentioned by one county (Hennepin). The number of deaths as of 4/4/2020 listed is 9. MN Department of health has the total number of deaths at 22 for the entire state. If this the situation across all of the states (and the world for that matter) obviously we are not getting facts, just estimates. However, these are likely the most accurate numbers the public is going to get.

This information is collected and shown as a record of how this situation is at this time in history to compare to what will happen over the next months.

There is no doubt in my mind that things would have turned out very differently if actions had been different. Whether humanity has chosen the right path will possibly never be known.
