Honest thoughts regarding the CoVID-19 pandemic of 2020.

4-1-2020

I started following the reports in January of 2020. I honestly can’t remember if I had heard anything about it before the beginning of the year but I made a few videos by the end of January talking about how the mainstream media was barely talking about it when reports out of China were enough to raise concern. It is now the first of April and the real question is whether or not we are all going to be fools for giving up our freedoms for something that will kill under 100k people globally.

I will make two arguments:

  1. It is certain that we will never know how many people this has and will kill. We know that certain governments are not being entirely transparent. The numbers may be and likely are significantly higher than we are made aware of.
  2. If we do not give up some of those freedoms temporarily, many more people would likely die and I for one do not want that on my conscience.

It is vitally important that after this is over we get any freedoms lost, back and not at the cost of other freedoms. It would also be a good time to assess the system and address corruption.

I do believe that mitigation on the parts of all the world governments will save lives. Calling it what it is, a pandemic, has mobilized resources all over the world to work together to stem the tide of this crisis. I only hope that once the virus is under control, we don’t find ourselves under a new and more tyrannical control.

This can and will be a moment in human history that will define us. If we go back to apathy and don’t make changes, we deserve whatever consequences that brings.
